At Chewters, we make great chocolate with great people. We specialize in one-shot depositing and high-speed wrapping, including nut butter cups, bars, squares, filled chocolates, and much more.
Our 60,000 square foot facility located in Delta, BC is fully automated, SQF Level 3 Certified, USDA-Certified Organic and Gluten-Free. Our team prides itself on innovation and the best quality product.
OUR CHOCOLATE STORY
Founded in 1984, Chewters Chocolates purchased Dynamic Chocolates in 2015, combining its chocolate expertise with Dynamic’s manufacturing capabilities. Since 2015, Chewters has implemented multiple capital improvements, training programs, new team members and new processes resulting in improvements in productivity, quality and efficiency.
LEADERSHIP TEAM
Richard Foley
Co-Founder
Richard was born into chocolate. He was working in his father's chocolate factory, Foley's Candies, from an early age. He started his own distribution business at 21 in the family basement, propelling him into a 35-year career in chocolate distribution, manufacturing, and product development. He has worked with some of the world's greatest chocolatiers and visited all of the major chocolate factories in the world. He has trained in bean to bar chocolate production in Switzerland and has extensive experience in manufacturing.
Wade Pugh
Co-Founder
From the time Wade finished high school, he wanted to be an entrepreneur. In 1984, with the idea to market an edible chocolate shot-glass called “chewters” to the food service industry, the company Chewters Chocolates was formed. Soon the company branched out to manufacture customized chocolates and was awarded the exclusive Canadian distributor rights for Hospitality Mints. In 2014, he formed a partnership with Chocxo Bean to Bar Chocolatier to transform Chocxo’s decadent chocolate into a range of bars, truffles and other chocolate treats and to launch the brand in Canada.
Peter Higgins
President
Peter brings an incredible passion for chocolate with over 20 years of hands-on experience in the chocolate business to his role as President. Peter has a degree in Food Science from the University of BC and held the role of President at Purdy's Chocolatier for two decades, where he developed new chocolate ideas while also traveling around the world studying chocolate and cocoa production in dozens of countries, gaining a thorough understanding of cocoa's agriculture, farming, and processing. Peter brings his passion and experience in R&D, manufacturing, operations, equipment and a strong passion for selling, brand building, and marketing.
